Abstract:
The invention provides a parking assist device capable of executing parking assistance for parking at a proper position corresponding to the shape of a dividing line of a parking area. The parking assist device includes: a first detection unit that detects a dividing line substantially parallel to a longitudinal direction of a parking region; a setting unit that sets a region of interest, which is a region in which an edge point indicating the boundary of the dividing line is detected, at a position determined on the basis of the dividing line detected by the first detection unit; a dividing unit that divides the region of interest into a plurality of divided regions on the basis of dividing lines in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction; a second detection unit that detects, on the basis of the edge point within the region of interest, a front end position indicating one end of the division line substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction on the entry side of the vehicle into the parking region; and a determination unit that determines a parking position on the basis of the front end position.
