Abstract:
A purpose of the present invention is to provide a passenger conveyor which allows suitable sterilization of moving straps traveling at different speeds. In a passenger conveyor 100 according to the present invention, a moving strap speed control unit 113 switches the moving speed of the moving straps between a first speed (speed during rated speed travel) and a second speed (speed during low-speed travel) which is slower than the first speed and greater than zero. An ultraviolet irradiation control unit 113 controls a sterilization unit 10 (ultraviolet light-emission units 11Aa, 11Ba) such that the amount of ultraviolet light emitted per unit of time by the sterilization unit 10 (the ultraviolet light-emission units 11Aa, 11Ba) at the first speed is greater than the amount of ultraviolet light emitted per unit of time by the sterilization unit 10 (the ultraviolet light emission units 11Aa, 11Ba) at the second speed.
