Abstract:
To provide an occupant protection device which can stably secure the tensile force of a tether that pulls an occupant restraint surface of an air bag to a lap belt part side.SOLUTION: There is provided an occupant protection device 10 which includes an air bag 29 that is arranged in a lap belt part 13 of a seat belt 11, expands with the inflow of an inflation gas in the time of operation, and can protect an occupant MP by receiving an upper body MU of the occupant MP that moves forward by an occupant restraint surface 38 on a rear surface side in the time of inflation completion. The air bag includes a tether 60 which pulls the occupant restraint surface in the time of inflation completion to the lap belt part side. The tether includes: a tip part 62 which is connected to the occupant restraint surface; and a root part 61 on the lap belt part side. The root part side gets under the lap belt part and is connected to a portion 64 on the front side of the lap belt part in the air bag in the time of inflation completion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
