Abstract:
The invention relates to a personal care appliance such as a shaver, toothbrush or hairstyler for treatment of a body part, wherein an additive is applied to the body part to be treated in order to facilitate or enhance treatment thereof. To that end the appliance comprises a reservoir for holding an additive, means for dispensing said additive onto the body part and control means for controlling the dispense means. The control means are arranged for automatically controlling the dispense means to dispense a desired dispense rate according to a predetermined dispense profile, which profile is adapted to a user's needs and/or particular treatment conditions.
