PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform biometric authentication, and easily perform personal authentication work by a portable terminal, etc. without having to carry a dedicated portable-type device.SOLUTION: A personal authentication device consisting of a device with an earphone which is capable of performing biometric authentication by electrocardiographic information includes an external ear electrode and an external electrode. The external ear electrode is provided on an earphone side, and is caused to come in contact with the external ear, and then the external electrode is touched with a hand so that electrocardiographic information is acquired.
