Abstract:

To provide a phase-transfer catalyst separable and recoverable by magnetic force and enabling the reuse of the catalyst.

A phosphonium salt supported on a magnetic fine particle, expressed by the figure and separable and recoverable by a magnet is used as a phase-transfer catalyst. In the formula, M is the magnetic fine particle; R1is a hydrocarbon group; R2, R3and R4are each a hydrocarbon group and these groups may be bonded together to form a ring; R5is a 1-3C alkyl; and X-is an anion of an acid.
