Abstract:
To provide a piezoelectric actuator that is able to hinder displacement of an output member, resulting from thermal expansion or creep of a piezoelectric element.SOLUTION: A piezoelectric actuator comprises: a first piezoelectric element 2 and a second piezoelectric element 3 arranged in parallel so as to be expanded/contracted and displaced in the same direction; a displacement increase mechanism 10 that increases displacements of them and outputs the increased displacements; and a drive section 30 that expands/contracts and drives the first piezoelectric element 2 and the second piezoelectric element 3. The displacement increase mechanism 10 has: a fixing member 11 that fixes respective one ends of the first piezoelectric element 2 and the second piezoelectric element 3; a first arm 16 connected to a fixing part 11 together with the other end of the first piezoelectric element 2 so as to be swingable; and a second arm 19 connected to the fixing part 11 together with the other end of the second piezoelectric element so as to be swingable. The drive section 30 applies a voltage such that the first piezoelectric element 2 and the second piezoelectric element 3 are displaced in directions opposite to each other by a predetermined amount. Thereby, the first arm 16 and the second arm 19 are displaced in the same direction by substantially the same amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
