PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye for a dye-sensitized solar cell, which has excellent photoelectric conversion efficiency and excellent durability, and to provide a semiconductor electrode and a dye-sensitized solar cell.SOLUTION: There are provided: the dye for a dye-sensitized solar cell, represented by formula [I] or a structure similar to the formula [I]; the semiconductor electrode sensitized using the dye; and the dye-sensitized solar cell using the semiconductor electrode.
