Abstract:
To adjust tensile force of a piston ring while suppressing ununiformity in a distribution of the tensile force in a circumferential direction of the piston ring, and to suppress increase in consumption of a lubricant even in a case of becoming inoperable.SOLUTION: An outer ring 110 is mounted inside of a ring groove extending in a circumferential direction on an outer peripheral surface of a piston having a cylindrical shape. A coil expander 120 is received inside of the ring groove, presses an inner periphery of the outer ring 110, has a spirally wound coil shape, and has an abutment 120a. A wire 130 has a drawing end portion 130e inserted inside of the coil shape and drawn out from the abutment 120a. A traction mechanism 150 is positioned at an inner peripheral side of the coil expander 120, and reduces tensile force of the piston ring 101 by reducing a diameter of the coil expander 120 through the wire 130 by pulling the drawing end portion 130e from the abutment 120a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
