Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platinum group metal supported catalyst having a higher reaction rate and higher catalytic activity.SOLUTION: A platinum group metal supported catalyst comprises a non-particulate organic porous cation exchanger supporting nanoparticles of platinum group metal of an average particle diameter 1-100 nm. The non-particulate organic porous cation exchanger includes a continuous skeleton phase and a continuous pore phase. A thickness of the continuous skeleton is 1-100 μm, an average diameter of the continuous pore is 1-1000 μm, and total pore volume is 0.5-50 ml/g. Cation exchange capacity per weight in a dry state is 1-6 mg equivalent/g. Cation exchange groups are uniformly dispersed in the organic porous cation exchanger. A content of the platinum group metal is 0.004-20 wt.% in a dry state.
