Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a superconducting wire, capable of uniformly and efficient ly controlling fine organization in the longitudinal direction, and having a high (c) axis orientation ratio and a large critical current density Jc at operating temperature.
CONSTITUTION: An oxide superconducting material having a Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+x composition is coated with silver or its alloy to form a linear body 13, and the linear body 13 is diameter-reduced by groove roll rolling and with a swaging machine, etc., and then different-peripheral-speed rolling using high and low speed rolls 11 and 12 and heat treatment at 600-845°C are repeated. This forms the linear body into a tape-like wire rod 14.
