Abstract:

To provide a method for suppressing powdering of a slag and using the slag effectively.

The slag contains, as main components, silicon oxide, aluminum oxide and calcium oxide, and among the silicon oxide content x (%), the aluminum oxide content y (%), and the calcium oxide content z (%), there are relations: formula (1) [z≥50, y>x, and x+y+z=100]. The suppression method for powdering the slag is cooling the slag to solidify from its melt state by a cooling speed V (°C/min) which satisfies the following relation on the contents of respective components: formula (2) [logV≥(10x-45)/(100-0.6x-y)].
