Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion device that can perform an overcurrent protection function for proper power conversion means irrespective of the length of a control operation period set based on a carrier frequency.SOLUTION: A power conversion device includes a voltage instruction generator 1 for generating a voltage instruction, a drive signal generator 2 for generating a carrier wave and generating a drive signal based on the carrier wave and the voltage instruction, power conversion means 3 for outputting a voltage based on the drive signal to drive a rotating machine, current detection means 4 for detecting the output current of the power conversion means, a control calculation period setting unit 5 for setting a control calculation period based on the frequency of the carrier wave, a power conversion means protection unit 6 for performing a protection operation for the power conversion means based on the variation amount of the output current per control calculation period and a predetermined current threshold value. The current threshold value is set based on at least one of the control calculation period, the frequency of the carrier wave, and the frequency of the voltage instruction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
