Abstract:
To provide a power transmission device capable of appropriately protecting a transmission mechanism unit and preventing deterioration of fuel economy with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A power transmission device 100 that transmits driving force from a variator 130 that shifts the rotation of an output shaft of an engine 10 of a vehicle to wheels W, is configured to comprise: a first rotating unit 134 that rotates in conjunction with an output shaft of a transmission mechanism unit; a second rotating unit 144 that rotates in conjunction with the wheels; a meshing clutch 150 provided between the first rotating unit and the second rotating unit; and a friction clutch 160 that is provided in parallel with the meshing clutch, and allows relative rotation between the first rotating unit and the second rotating unit when a transmission torque of a predetermined value or more is input.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
