Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formic acid generation device creation method, a formic acid generation device and a formic acid generator such that in artificial photosynthesis, electron transfer to methyl viologen can be achieved without depriving the excitation energy of the dye molecule, and the hydrogen source can be efficiently converted to formic acid and stored.SOLUTION: The formic acid generation device creation method for generating formic acid from hydrogen ions, electrons, and carbon dioxide by artificial photosynthesis comprises: a coating step S1 for coating a substrate with a mixed liquid of fine aluminum oxide particles and polymeric beads; a drying step S2 for drying the substrate; a heat treatment step S3 for burning off the polymeric beads by heating the substrate, and forming a porous layer in the surface of the substrate by the fine aluminum oxide particles; and a support step S4 for supporting a dye, methyl viologen, and formate dehydrogenase on the porous layer on the surface of the substrate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
