Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing device and a processing method for waste water containing heavy metal which require a less amount of chemicals for pH adjustment, reduce a quantity of generated sludge, and enable an operation management cost to decrease.SOLUTION: A processing device for waste water containing heavy metal includes in order: a biological oxidation device 3 filled with filter material which has a grain size of 4 mm to 20 mm inclusive and on which micro-organisms are supported; and a biological contact filtration device 12 filled with filter material which has a grain size of 0.5 mm to 4 mm inclusive and on which micro-organisms are supported, and the biological oxidation device includes an air diffuser 7 which supplies air or oxygen.
