Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation process for a composition comprising 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (1233xf), used for producing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene.SOLUTION: A separation process comprises providing a composition to a phase separator, the composition comprising 1233xf, HF, organics such as trichlorofluoropropene isomers, 2,3-dichloro-3,3-difluoropropene, and dimers, and separating the composition into a top layer and a bottom layer, the top layer being composed of substantially all of the HF and 1233xf from the composition, and the bottom layer being composed of a composition rich in organics.SELECTED DRAWING: None
