Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a spun yarn-based fabric-like cloth by treating filament yarns composed of polyester components having different alkali solubilities with a fluid, forming loopy fluffs, weaving the yarns, then subjecting the resultant cloth to alkali dissolving treatment and dividing the component with low solubility into an ultrafine thickness. CONSTITUTION:Polyester-based multifilament yarn composed of conjugate yarn of a polyester component with low alkali solubility and a polyester component with high alkali solubility are subjected to fluid treatment to form loopy fluffs. The resultant yarn is then woven and subjected to alkali dissolving treatment to dissolve and remove the polyester component with the high solubility and divide parts of the polyester component with the low solubility. Thereby, fibers of the respective filaments are converted into ultrafine fibers of <=0.5d and afford a spun yarn-based fabric-like cloth, excellent in drapeability and having soft touch with depth though use of the above-mentioned splitting conjugate yarn.
