Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce a number of parts and to obtain a small pickup device facilitating the adjustment of an optical axis.

CONSTITUTION: A SHG laser light transmitted in the direction of Y axis by means of the lifting mirror 19 of a laser generating device passes through a beam expander 23 and a diffraction grating 24, is transmitted to a polarization beam splitter 25, passes through a collimator lens 26 and a 1/4 wavelength plate 27 and is converged on the recording surface of an optical disk 22 by means of an objective lens 21. The returned light from the recording surface of an optical disk 22 is made incident again on the polarization beam splitter 25 through the objective lens 21, the 1/4 wavelength plate 27 and the lens 26, received by a photodetector 29 through a multiple lens 28 and the recorded signal is reproduced.
