Abstract:
Additives useful as dispersants and/or detergents in lubricating oils and hydrocarbon fuels are obtained by treating polyamino alkenyl or alkyl succinimides with a compound of the general formula: wherein W is oxygen or sulfur; X is oxygen or sulfur; R4 is an alkylene group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms optionally substituted by from 1 to 3 alkyl groups of 1 or 2 carbon atoms each; and R5 is hydrogen or alkyl of from 1 to 20 carbon atoms.
