Potassium hydroxide, carbonate, bicarbonate or formate, sodium hydroxide, carbonate, bicarbonate for formate, cesium hydroxide, carbonate, bicarbonate or formate or ammonium formate or ammonia is mixed with formic acid at 40-100 DEG C., the mixture is cooled and centrifuged. The filtrate containing acid salt is collected. The filter cake is transported to a drier/mixer where other disalts, calcium formate and/or a desiccant can be added.
