Abstract:
The method consists of making longitudinal cuts in a sheet metal strip (1) by passing it between two rollers carrying annular cutters. The cutter blades are discontinuous and angularly offset from one roller to the other so as to form parallel rectilinear frame members (11) linked at regular intervals by connecting straps and linking jambs (14). Two adjacent members are provided with either U-shaped straps (12) for linking to similarly orientated jambs or S-shaped straps (13) for linking with two jambs with opposite orientation. A transverse cutting of the strip is carried out by cropping the frame members and straps along different abscissas (X,x,X'). One pre-cut member out of two is displaced in an offset plane by vertically pushing the members carrying the U-shaped straps so as to bring, by pivoting the jambs, the frame member ends (11a) into vertical alignment with the S-shaped straps. The strip is then drawn along a transverse direction.
