Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for preventing unauthorized photographing of an iris pattern.SOLUTION: A full-time pattern 301 for preventing unauthorized photographing at all times or an authentication patter 303 for allowing iris authentication while preventing unauthorized photographing is displayed on a liquid crystal matrix provided on an authentication insert worn on an eye like a contact lens. The full-time pattern 301 comprises a concealment pattern 302 for covering at least a portion of the iris; the authentication pattern 303 comprises a pseudo pattern 304 for generating characteristic information different from an iris pattern 15a. When the full-time pattern 301 or the authentication pattern 303 is displayed, a camera photographs a scramble pattern 351, 353. All of the characteristic information of the iris pattern 15a cannot be extracted from a scramble pattern 351 photographed in an unauthorized manner. The iris pattern 15a cannot be reproduced from the scramble pattern 353 unless having the knowledge of the authentication pattern 303.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
