Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique by which the accuracy of detection for the incidence direction of incident radiation can be enhanced.SOLUTION: A detecting device 1 for radiation incidence direction comprises: means 15 for detecting the energy and the arrival position of scattered radiation; means 14 for detecting ionized electrons with recoil electrons; means 13 for applying an electric field to scatterers 12; means 18 for figuring out the incidence direction of incident radiation from information on the energy and arrival position of scattered radiation and the energy and recoil direction of recoil electrons; and means 16 for acquiring the recoil direction from the Compton scattering point and a passed point on the track away by a prescribed distance from this scattering point. The recoil direction acquiring means 16 sets the prescribed distance longer as the energy of the recoil electrons increases.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
