Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable connection mechanism which enables a cable to be attached/detached in a safe condition.SOLUTION: An electronic apparatus, having a cable connection unit which can attach/detach a connector connected with a cable for performing data communication with an external device, has a lock mechanism to keep the connector in a connected state. The electronic apparatus can detect a predetermined specific operation to the set connector, and when detecting the specific operation, executes preprocessing required for safely detaching the connector. Then, in response to completion of the preprocessing, the lock mechanism is released, so that the cable can be detached.
