PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a retainer that can fix guide rails in three or more kinds of rail sizes with the same kind of rail clips.SOLUTION: An elevator rail retainer comprises a stationary plate 7, which comes in contact with the bottom face of the stem 6a of a guide rail 6 of a first rail size and the bottom face of the stem 6a of a guide rail 6 of a second rail size where the thickness dimension of the stem 6a of the guide rail 6 of the first rail size is larger than that of the guide rail 6 of the first rail size, with a width dimension larger than the width dimension of the stem 6a of the guide rail 6 of the second rail size, a rail clip 8 having an engagement part 8a with a height dimension equivalent to the thickness dimension of the stem 6a of the guide rail 6 of the first rail size and a contact part 8b coming in contact with the stationary plate 7 when the engagement part 8a is engaged with an end in the width direction of the stem 6a of the guide rail 6 of the first rail size, and a spacer 9 clamped by the contact part 8b of the rail clip 8 and the stationary plate 7 when an end in the width direction of the stem 6a of the guide rail 6 of the second rail size is engaged with the engagement part 8a of the rail clip 8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
