Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new microorganism Actinomadura madurae producing an antibiotic LL-D42067 α,β effective in treatment of coccidiosis of warm-blooded animals by fermentation in a culture medium containing carbon and nitrogen source and an inorganic anion and cation.
CONSTITUTION: This new microbial Actiomadura madurae (NRRL15734) can produce an antibiotic LL-D42067 α represented by formula I and an antibiotic LL-D42067 β represented by formula II effective in treatment, etc., of coccidiosis of warm-blooded animals in recoverable amount when the microorganism is fermented in an aqueous nutrient medium containing a source capable of assimilating carbon and nitrogen and salts of inorganic anion and cation. The new microorganism is isolated from soil from San Simao in Brazil and identified as a new subspecies of Actiomadura madurae designated as Actiomadura madurae subspecies simaensis.
