Abstract:
To provide a reading device that can prevent a carriage from derailing from a guide rail.SOLUTION: A guide rail 16 is in contact with inclined surfaces 62 of a first slide member 31 and a second slide member 32, and is sandwiched by first vertical surfaces 63 of the first slide member 31 and the second slide member 32 from a main scanning direction. With this configuration, when a rotating force about the guide rail 16 is applied to a carriage 13 and the carriage 13 is rotated in a direction of the rotating force, the first vertical surface 63 of the first slide member 31 or the second slide member 32 is slid from the carriage 13 into a space below the guide rail 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
