Abstract:
To provide a recording medium detection apparatus that prevents an erroneous movement of a recording medium detection unit.SOLUTION: The recording medium detection apparatus includes: a recording medium detection unit 40 having recording medium detection means 72 for detecting a recording medium P; and a first guide member 80 in which a unit movement path 81 through which the recording medium detection unit 40 is moved is formed. The recording medium detection unit 40 has a switching operation unit 67 capable of switching between a release state in which the recording medium detection unit 40 can move in the unit movement path 81 and a locked state in which the recording medium detection unit 40 is prevented from moving in the unit movement path 81. The switching operation unit 67 is provided at a position not protruding from a surface of the recording medium detection unit 40. The switching operation unit 67 has recessed portions 68d, 69d which are recessed from a surface of the switching operation unit 67.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
