Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering zinc from a waste substance containing zinc, applicable to an actual electric furnace dust or zinc chloride-based waste substance, which are complex system, mainly containing oxide containing many impurities.SOLUTION: A method has a temperature increasing process (S1) for heating chloride gas and the waste substance to a predetermined temperature in advance, a selective chlorination process (S2) for conducting a selective chlorination reaction of a zinc component, which is an endothermic reaction, by reacting the chloride gas and the waste substance of which the temperature is increased to the predetermined temperature to produce coarse zinc chloride steam, a molten salt producing process (S3) for concentrating the coarse zinc chloride steam to obtain coarse zinc chloride and then purifying the coarse zinc chloride to obtain a molten salt, and a molten salt electrolysis process (S4) for electrolyzing the molten salt as an electrolysis bath to precipitate zinc.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
