To provide a method for reforming exhaust gas generated from a metallurgical furnace in which any carbon, unburnt components or the like are not deposited, the responsiveness of the metallurgical furnace to the operational fluctuation is excellent, and the heat of exhaust gas is effectively increased, and discharge of carbon dioxide is effectively reduced, when efficient reforming reaction of carbon dioxide is induced, and an apparatus therefor.
In the method for reforming exhaust gas generated from the metallurgical furnace, when the exhaust gas is reformed by adding a reducing agent to high-temperature exhaust gas to be exhausted through a flue of a metallurgical furnace to induce the reforming reaction by carbon dioxide contained in the exhaust gas and the reducing agent, the reforming reaction is executed in the interposition of metal nickel covered on an inner wall surface of the flue.
