Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a rice cooker that can cook rice such that the rice has a rich flavor and has a mouthfeel such that rice grains can be sensed. [Solution] This rice cooker (1) comprises: an inner pot (5) that accommodates rice (R); an outer pot (4) that is provided outside the inner pot (5) and accommodates heating water (w); a pot heater (8) that heats the outer pot (4); and a control unit (12) that controls the heating performed by the pot heater (8). The control unit (12) performs heating using the pot heater (8) until the heating water (w) reaches a prescribed temperature at which the heating water (w) is not boiling, and once the rice (R) has been heated by the condensation heat of steam on the outer surface of the inner pot (5), performs heating using the pot heater (8) until the heating water (w) boils, and then heats the rice (R) by causing steam resulting from vaporization of the heating water (w) to flow into the inside of the inner pot (5).
