Abstract:
To provide an asphalt finisher capable of properly controlling the expansion and contraction of a screed when laying paving material on curved parts of roads.SOLUTION: An asphalt finisher 100 includes: a screed 3 that is capable of expanding and contracting in the vehicle width direction for spreading the paving material PV behind the screw SC spread by screw SC; and a controller 50 that controls the expansion and contraction of the screed 3. The controller 50 is configured to switch between a first mode (lower layer mode) that controls the expansion and contraction of screed 3 when the height H11 of the object AP that defines the boundary line of a road to be constructed is higher than the height H12 of a new pavement NP to be leveled by the screed 3 and a second mode (surface mode) that controls the expansion and contraction of the screed 3 when the height H11 of the object AP is less than the height H12 of the new pavement NP.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
