Abstract:
To provide a rotary piston engine for improving its thermal efficiency with an advanced combustion gravity center by enabling advanced ignition and a shorter ignition delay period.SOLUTION: A predetermined-shape virtual flame is defined, and a recess 7 of a rotor 2 is formed so that a S/V ratio is equal to or lower than 0.45 at the time of BTDC 49 degrees, where V(mm) is the volume of part of the virtual flame, not interfering with the rotor 2 and a rotor housing 3, and S(mm) is the total area of the surface of the virtual flame contacting the rotor 2 and the rotor housing 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
