Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prolong the life of a pneumatic radial tire for heavy load, make the thickness of rubber thinner at a side wall part of the tire and lighten the weight of the tire by adding in advance a specific compound to a compound such as ethanolamine, dissolving the compound thus prepared in an aqueous solution of a lubricant for wire drawing and using the solution thus obtained to draw a steel wire for a carcass cord.
CONSTITUTION: A triazine thiolic compound is dissolved in an aqueous solution of a lubricant for wire drawing so that the concentration of said compound becomes 1.0 to 10.0wt.%, and a steel wire is drawn in this solution by using dies to produce a steel wire having a diameter of 0.12 to 0.28mm. The steel wires thus produced are twisted to make a steel cord, and the steel cord thus obtained is used as a carcass cord. A distance from the surface of a side wall part 2 in the vicinity of a portion where a tire has a maximum width to the surface of the carcass cord is kept in a range of 1.5 to 3.0 mm. As a shape of the tire, a belt layer 5 is arranged annularly in the peripheral direction of the tire between a carcass layer 4 and a tread part 1, and the-carcass layer 4 is formed of at least one layer while the belt layer 5 is formed of two or more layers.
