To provide a treatment method for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) that can provide significant benefits for this disease without incurring high safety risks.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for treating patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) by administering a clinically proven, safe and effective amount of anti-IL-12/IL-23p40 antibodies or anti-IL-23 antibodies, for example, the anti-IL-12/IL-23p40 antibody ustekinumab, the method being effective in achieving significant amelioration in disease activity in patients.SELECTED DRAWING: None
