Abstract:
To reduce a size of a muffler, and to activate a catalyst disposed in the muffler in an early stage.SOLUTION: A muffler 21 comprises a cylindrical muffler body 25, a bulkhead 41 for forming first and second chambers by partitioning an internal space of the muffler body 25, a communication pipe 56 for making the second chamber and the muffler body 25 communicate with each other in conjunction with a discharge pipe, and a catalyst 54 disposed in the internal space. A communication pipe support hole 43 and a catalyst support hole 42 are formed at a center side portion of the bulkhead 41. The communication pipe 56 is supported in the communication pipe support hole 43, the catalyst 54 is supported in the catalyst support hole 42, a notch 45 is formed at an outer edge side portion of the bulkhead 41, and an exhaust gas circulation interval 46 for making the first and second chambers communicate with each other, and making an exhaust gas circulate between the first and second chambers is formed between the notch 45 and the muffler body 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
