Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a novel tool for generating an internal thread.SOLUTION: A thread generating tool for producing a thread in a workpiece has the following features that a) the tool rotates around a tool axis (A), b) the tool has a number n (n≥1) of groove generating regions (42 and 44) for forming one groove for the respective workpieces and a number m (m≥1) of thread generating regions (32 and 34) for forming the thread in the workpiece, c) each of the m thread forming regions is arranged behind one of the n groove forming regions as viewed in an axial direction projection parallel to the tool axis (A), and has a smaller extent than the groove forming region as viewed in a cross section in the axial direction projection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
