Abstract:
A wood screw (2, 2') includes a head (21), a shank (22) axially extending from the head (21), a main thread (23) extending helically around the shank (22) in a tightening direction (A) and having an outer diameter ranging from 3 to 16 mm, and a plurality of forward ribs (24) extending spirally around the shank (22) in a same direction as the main thread (23). The number of the forward ribs (24) ranges from three to five. Each forward rib (24), in a cross section thereof, has a first outer edge (241) facing the tightening direction (A), and a second outer edge (242) facing opposite the tightening direction (A) and having a length (L2) shorter than that of the first outer edge (241). Each forward rib (24) has a height (h1) smaller than that of the main thread (23), and a lead angle (α) greater than that of the main thread (23).
