To provide a method for configuring a submarine sensor network, in which sensor data of a submarine sensor can be easily and stably acquired, and an essential part of the submarine sensor can be surely recovered.
The submarine sensor 1 dropped into a submarine observation sea area from an aircraft 100 is separated from a floating part 12 of the submarine sensor 1 by a laying separation device 15 to lay a sensor body part in the sea, so that transmission and receiving of optional data including sense data can be performed by underwater communication with other submarine sensors 1A and 1C and/or a submarine communication network terminal 5B present within a communicable range of a submerged radio machine 17B provided, for example, on 1B of the sensor body part of the submarine sensor 1, and communication with a land station 3 can be performed finally via a submarine cable. When a recovery instruction of the submarine sensor 1A from the land station 2 is received by the submerged radio machine 17A, a recovery separation device 22A is operated to separate the essential part from an anchor 23A, and it is made to float on the sea level by the buoyancy of a submerged buoyancy body 16A.
