Abstract:
A brace apparatus for mounting between two structural components of a support infrastructure to absorb vibrational energy imposed on the support infrastructure. The brace apparatus comprises: (i) an elongate piston component having one end engaged with a piston plate and the other end configured for demountable pivotable engagement with a first structural component, (ii) a sleeve component for receiving the piston component therein, said sleeve component having a back cap for receiving the piston component therethrough and a front cap configured for demountable pivotable engagement with a second structural component, and (iii) a plurality of equidistantly spaced-apart tie rods housed within the sleeve component wherein one end of each tie rod is secured to the outer surface of the front cap and the other end is secured to the outer surface of the back cap, the tie rod slidingly inserted through an orifice provided therefore in the piston plate.
