PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently, separating and recovering papers and plastics from a mixture of the papers and the plastics. SOLUTION: Papers and plastics being constitutional components of a mixture are separated and revered by a moisture absorbing process wherein a moisture absorbing liq. is incorporated into the mixture of the papers and the plastics, a grinding process wherein a moisture-absorbed article obtd. by the moisture absorbing process is ground, a classifying process wherein the ground article obtd. by the grinding process is separated into a part with large sizes and a part with small sizes and a separating process wherein the part with small sizes obtd. by the classifying process is separated into a part contg. largely the papers and a part contg. largely the plastics.
