Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, on an occasion for recovering, by using a sulfuric acid solution, valuable metals from defective products of anode materials produced during manufacturing processes or anode materials, etc. retrieved from used lithium ion batteries, for example, a method capable of effectively and efficiently separating and removing aluminum eluted into the sulfuric acid solution while inhibiting recovery losses of concomitantly exuding valuable metals.SOLUTION: After an anode material has been immersed within a sulfuric acid solution, the pH of the sulfuric acid solution is adjusted within a range of 3.5-6.5 by adding thereto a bicarbonate or carbonate, and aluminum eluted into the sulfuric acid solution is separated and filtered as aluminum hydroxide.
