Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal device which may lubricate and cool sliding surfaces of a fixed ring and a rotary ring, and to provide a pump device.SOLUTION: A shaft seal device 11 is used in a pump device 1 and seals a space between a rotation shaft 24, which is inserted into a seal casing 30 where a lubrication oil M is stored in a vertical direction, and the seal casing 30. The shaft seal device 11 includes: a fixed ring 36 fixed to a portion of the seal casing 30 which is located around the upper side of the inserted rotation shaft 24; a rotary ring 37 which is fixed to the rotation shaft 24 and slides relative to the fixed ring 36; and a biasing member 38 which biases the rotary ring 37 against the fixed ring 36 and supplies a lubrication oil M to the fixed ring 36 and the rotary ring 37.
