Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device and an image forming apparatus capable of preventing skew of a sheet without reducing operability of side end regulation means.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding device restricts side end positions, in a width direction, of a sheet bundle placed on a paper feed tray by a pair of side regulation plates 16F, 16R movable in the width direction. Then, while the paper feed tray moves to a position where the sheet can be fed, the sheet feeding device applies regulating force for regulating movement, in the wide direction, of the pair of side regulation plates 16F, 16R by a regulating force applying mechanism 46. While the paper feed tray is moved to a standby position, the sheet feeding device releases application of the regulating force by the regulating force applying mechanism 46.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
