Abstract:
To detect a position of a sheet bundle in a loading direction and to detect that the sheet bundle is correctly set in the direction orthogonal to the loading direction.SOLUTION: A paper feed tray includes: a pressing member 26 that contacts an upper surface of a sheet bundle SB stacked on a bottom plate, a bottom plate lifting motor that lifts a bottom plate in a stacking direction; an upper side detection sensor 27a that is disposed at an upper side mounting position and that detects the pressing member 26 when the pressing member 26 in contact with the sheet bundle reaches the upper side mounting position as the bottom plate rises; and a lower side detection sensor 27b that is disposed at a lower side mounting position that is spaced below the upper side mounting position and that can detect the sheet bundle SB after the upper side detection sensor 27a detects the pressing member 26 as the bottom plate rises. A sheet loading failure is determined based on an output of the upper side detection sensor 27a and an output of the lower side detection sensor 27b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
