To control the light emitting of a lighting device in accordance with shelf boards inside a box frame and the position of the lighting device.
In the shelf in which the number of shelf boards, positions, and the direction are changeable inside the box frame, it is detected whether or not there is a shelf board or the lighting device at each position inside the box frame. In using the shelf, a merchandise ID of a merchandise displayed on the shelf board at a position to be detected is detected (step S71), and when there is a merchandise (step S72; YES), illumination control information corresponding to the detected merchandise ID is read from an illumination database (step S73). Then, a shelf board on which the merchandise is mounted and the lighting device on an upper shelf board are controlled in accordance with the read illumination control information, a distance from the merchandise, and a time of day (step S74). When setting is not performed normally (step S75; NO), an error is displayed (step S76).
