PURPOSE: To process a complicated printing job by means of the small memory capacity of a printer by securing dynamically band memories of different sizes determined in the memories of the printer in compliance with the determined memory map.
CONSTITUTION: A printing job such as a page data stored in RAM in a computer is analyzed by a CPU, and the data capacity transmitted to the printer is computed (1). Then the total capacity of memories of the printer is compared with the data capacity to be transmitted, an whether the development of one page bit map in the printer memories is possible or not is decided, and if it is YES, the band for securing the bit map memories of full page in RAM is designated to the CPU, and the process is moved to step (9) afterwards. In the case the decision of step (2) is NO, the band memory sizes secured in RAM are computed by the CPU, anal in the case the decision of the minimum band size is No, the process is moved to step (9) afterwards correspondingly to the band size computed by step (3).
