Abstract:
To provide a side rail where the vertical directionality is easily discriminated.SOLUTION: A side rail 1 constituting a combination oil ring 3 is configured by comprising: an outer peripheral surface 14; an inner peripheral surface 13; a first axial side face 11 turned to one side in an axial direction; and a second axial side face 12 turned to the other side in the axial direction and being in parallel with the first axial side face 11. The outer peripheral surface 14 includes a chamfered part 30 in a clearance gap with the second axial side face 12. The chamfered part 30 is formed from a tapered surface 30a whose diameter is reduced gradually toward a side of the second axial side face 12 while defining as a start point a position on the outer peripheral surface 14 axially separated from the first axial side face 11 to the second axial side face 12 by 0.05 mm or more. The tapered surface 30a is formed in a projected curved surface, a recessed groove 32 which is formed on a recessed curved surface is provided in the tapered surface 30a, and the tapered surface 30a and the recessed groove 32 are mutually concatenated via the curved surfaces.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
