Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a seal for solid polymer type fuel battery separators which is superior in sealability without executing a post-curing process as a seal material for solid polymer type fuel battery separators; and a silicone rubber composition used in the method for manufacturing a seal for solid polymer type fuel battery separators.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a seal for solid polymer type fuel battery separators the steps of heating and molding a silicone rubber composition including (A)a silicon atom-bonded alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane, (B)a vinyl group-containing resinic copolymer including RSiOunits (where R represents a univalent hydrocarbon group) and SiOunits at a molar ratio [RSiO/SiO] of 0.5-1.5, (C)organohydrogenpolysiloxane, (D)fumed silica, (E)an addition reaction catalyst, and (F)a triazole-based compound and/or an imidazole-based compound, thereby forming a primary silicone rubber hardened material on a peripheral edge of a surface of a solid polymer type fuel battery separator, where the primary silicone rubber hardened material is made an elastic seal layer without performing a post-curing step thereon.
